The Budwig Proticol

The Budwig Proticol – Flax seed oil and Cottage Cheese and how they can help you live.

There are some big claims on the internet.  Cancer has supposedly been cured by many many things, some mainstream, some downright wacky (I read recently that fellatio reduces a females chances of getting breast cancer.  I can certainly see how this idea got started however I suspect it is unlikely to be true :P)   Very early on I read about the work of the work of Max Gerson.  His work with nutrition and cancer has without doubt helped many many people heal themselves from very debilitating illnesses.  Now the work of another German, Dr Johanna Budwig is having a resurgence amongst many people trying to heal themselves of cancer and other debilitating illnesses.

Dr Budwig claimed diet, and especially the fats that we consume today are very much behind the cancer epidemic being observed. Her theory was basically that the overconsumption of poor fats, mainly in the form of trans fats and omega 6 fatty acids was leading to problems within our cells. Her solution is certainly surprising,

Flax Seed Oil and Cottage Cheese:

When I first heard about this one I was a little taken aback.  As a man who had been introduced to the idea that diet could help your health, even when you are already sick, by The China Study, I found it very hard to believe that the use of animal protein could ever help with cancer.  But let us first look at the theory proposed.

Dr Budwig claimed that one of the problems with the western diet is that it its lack of omega 3 fatty acids causes an excess production of oxidase.  From what I can gather this is anything that catalyses an oxidation reaction which is clearly a bad thing.  These oxidase lead to cancer and other inflammatory diseases.  I have no way of knowing if this is correct but certainly it could be.  However there is a lot of literature on the subject online, and although I am always skeptical of information I find online the sheer amount of it in this case leads me to at least take the claims seriously.  One of the best resources I have found on the subject is the yahoo chat group flaxseedoil2.  There are a large number of testimonials on the site.

The claim for the flax seed oil and cottage cheese (FOCC) is that it allows a large infusion of healthy omega 3 fatty acids into the cells around the body, including the cancer cells.  This is supposedly done by utilising the sulfurous proteins within the cottage cheese.  These bond with the O3 fatty acids making them water soluble and more readily available to move through the body to where they are needed.  Sounds to good to be true (well lets face it, many of the cancer cures online do).

Once the flaxseed oil is in the cell I am not sure exactly what it is meant to do as the information I have is not great (a black mark in my mind).  However I understand that it is the presence of extra electrons in the O3 oils that do the healing.  They cause oxygenation of the cell which is proposed to kill or convert the cell back to its healthy original state.

In the end the proof is in the pudding.  I have read a fair few testimonials that claim that the FOCC mix has been vital for their recovery and this is not limited to cancer testimonials.  It must be noted that the Budwig Protocol is a whole lifestyle approach and is a much healthier way of life than most people would be living and it could be this that is behind some or even much of the healing.  As with everything in the cancer world just because somebody claims it has worked for them it does not mean it will work for you, or indeed anybody else.   But in the end it is cheap and tasty, so in my mind this one is worth a try.

The protocol is:  What did Budwig suggest.

  • Flaxseed oil and Cottage cheese: Mixed thoroughly with a hand blender.  2/3 a cup of CC and 1/3 cup of FO.  Mixed in with this ground flax seeds and berries.
  • 2-3T more FO a day
  • 4-6 T ground flax seeds a day
  • 30 minutes of sunshine a day
  • Fresh pressed juices
  • Flax seed oil enema
  • Flax seed oil skin rub
  • 100% whole grains only
  • Stress reduction
  • several cups of herbal tea a day
  • saurkraut in the morning

So if you are interested do some more research.  From my own experience it is not a panacea that has worked fast enough to be kept up. There are other ideas I am exploring.  I also had lot of problems with bloating and gas.  However I the protocol agrees with a lot of the ideas I have been coming across that revolve around restoring the health of the individual cells.  Well worth investigating.
